Day 15: Understanding of and Desire for Scripture

“Father God, you say in your Word that when we delight ourselves in you, you will give us the desires of our heart; that you will answer our prayers in accordance with your will (Psalms 37:4, 1 John 5:14-15). Father, it is the desire of my heart to have a hunger and thirst for and understanding of your Word. It is the prayer of my heart that you grant me this desire, which is in accordance with your will (Joshua 1:8, Romans 10:17, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Psalms 119:11). I pray that you would place a longing within me that will only be satisfied with more of you. Draw me to yourself and draw me to your Word, which is life and truth (John 17:17). Open my mind to understand your Word (Luke 24:45). Give me ears to hear, eyes to see, a mind to understand and a heart to receive all that you have for me through your Word. Instruct me in how to use your Word in my every day life and in my prayers so that I will be victorious over the enemy and so that my prayers will be specific, effective and in line with your will. Give me understanding far beyond what is humanly possible. I thank you for answering my prayers in advance. I give you all the praise and all the glory. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.”
